Park City, Utah used to be a small mining town, today it is a world class ski destination with some of the greatest snow on earth. Visitors come to Park City to experience the skiing but they leave with a great appreciation of a small community that is very proud of its past. Old Town, where Historic Main Street is located has hundreds of small “Miner Homes.” Thanks to the city, all these homes must keep some portion of the past if they are going to renovate the home. Because of this many of the new buildings also have the miner feel to them. When you travel to Park City next perhaps stop by the museum on Main Street to learn more about the past to understand why Park City is what it is today. And don’t forget to bring your ski equipment and if you do not want the hassle of carrying your equipment, simple rent your equipment from a Park City Ski Shop.

The town of Park City is watching closely how the Vancouver Olympics are prepared. Just 8 years ago, it was Park City who was nervous and excited to be hosting the games. The talk of the town was not about what type of snow year it was going to be but rather how would the Olympics go? Would the traffic be bad, would the events run smoothly, would the visitors enjoy their experience, what would the world think of our backyard? Everyone is cheering for a good Vancouver games and is always ready to offer any advice. The one good thing about not having the Olympics is that 100% of our resorts will be open. So if you are looking to ski and watch the Olympics, go to Vancouver, if you just want to ski, come visit Park City, Utah. Insiders tip: If you don’t want to pay for the airline baggage fees rent your Park City ski equipment rentals.

Park City offers many fun summertime activities. I’ve recently been hiking up the Spiro trail in Park City, starting at Silver Star Resort. The terrain is beautiful and it’s awesome seeing exactly where you’re skiing on the mountain. I’m quite surprised that Park City Ski Rentals don’t suffer more damage with all of the variable terrain underneath the snow. There are tree stumps and rocks everywhere! If interested in hiking or biking in Park City, consult with a local Park City Ski Shop for trail maps and local TIPS!
